Coffey's BBQ Crabs

Coffey's BBQ Crabs

This recipe brings up such wonderful memories for the Coffey family!  When our (Jeremy & Elizabeth's) oldest two boys were little, Jeremy's parents, Jenny & Jeff, and his brother, Corey, took all of us crabbing.  We caught 13 dozen Blue Crabs using turkey necks tied to a string. The boys were in heaven!  So was I honestly!  I'd never been crabbing before.  We literally made circles around the boat bringing in crab after crab after crab!  It was such a great day!  And, it's one of our many memories with Corey that we will always cherish!

We used this recipe to BBQ some of the crabs that day.  BBQ Crabs were one of Corey's favorites!  We hope you and your family will enjoy this recipe as much as we all do!

Ingredients:

  • 2 dozen whole cleaned crabs
  • 1 Qt (32 oz) jar Jack Miller's BBQ Sauce
  • 1 12-oz can Miller Lite beer (or other beer of your choice)
  • Envie
  • Fiesta BBQ Crab Seasoning

Directions:

  1. Season inside the crab bodies with a light dusting of Envie and a medium dusting of Fiesta BBQ Crab Seasoning & set aside.
  2. In medium sauce pot, combine Jack Miller's BBQ Sauce & 1/2 can of Lite beer, bringing to a simmer.
  3. Heat BBQ pit/grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Dunk crab bodies in the sauce (from step 2), keeping sauce in the cavity of the crabs before placing on the grill.
  5. Cook crabs until you start to see the sauce bubbling inside the crab body.
  6. Remove crabs from the grill and serve.
